Representative Attorney Success Stories
From the U.S. Department of Justice to Principal & Head of Litigation
One of the most rewarding aspects of career coaching is helping attorneys evaluate significant career decisions and navigate major professional transitions.
Imani Hutty spent years serving as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, where his work included complex litigation, regulatory enforcement, financial misconduct investigations, and matters involving emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Throughout our work together, it was clear that Imani possessed not only exceptional legal skills, but also a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a clear vision for the future of his practice.
Leaving government service is never an easy decision. For many attorneys, it means stepping away from a professional identity built over years of public service. The transition becomes even more significant when the opportunity is not simply to join a law firm, but to assume a leadership role.
In 2026, The Banks Law Firm announced that Imani had joined the firm as a Principal and Head of Litigation. In this role, he will lead the firm's litigation practice and help expand its capabilities in complex litigation, investigations, regulatory enforcement, financial misconduct matters, and emerging technologies.
What makes this achievement particularly noteworthy is that Imani is not only building a litigation practice. He is also laying the foundation for a future AI consulting and advisory practice, a goal he discussed long before making this transition. His focus, entrepreneurial spirit, and long-term strategic thinking were evident from the beginning.
"The more time passes, the more I feel that things happened the way they were supposed to."
It was a privilege to be part of Imani's journey and to help him navigate this important career transition.
